One of my goals with this blog is to help show you the way toward saving more money now and in the future. As well as finding unique ways to increase your income and savings. In the last few years, I started reading more and more blogs, and I found that I am most interested and encouraged by finance blogs. I enjoy reading success stories, as well as learning lessons from mistakes these bloggers have made.
As a part of the younger generation, I see many of my peers spending money like it won’t matter in the future. Taking on high car payments for years on end, purchasing multiple pairs of shoes a month, or going out to eat many times a week. Just two years ago, I was spending WAY more money on a monthly basis than I do today. The things I needed to work on the most were:
- Spending excess money shopping (especially online)
- Eating out
- Controlling my grocery budget (kind of goes hand in hand with eating out)
Since I needed some help with these financial woes, I started with identifying the problems and then trying to find solutions that worked for me. Am I saying you are a bad person if you want a new car, or a new pair of shoes more often than is actually necessary? No. I understand the appeal of purchases, as I have been in your shoes (literally). I found myself with enough liquid income to buy whatever I wanted, and I thought that buying things made me “happy”. Which it did for maybe half a day, and then I went back to being unhappy and having the desire to buy something else. Therefore, I really want to share the value of saving versus spending your money, as well as planning a smart financial future for yourself. I don’t begin to presume I know everything, but I’d like to share the things I have learned or through my own mistakes! I am happy to answer questions, and I’d like to help YOU be a savvy shopper and saver!
