I used to wonder what to get for my barn friends and acquaintances. I really try to stick to a budget during the holidays, so I typically make baked goods or something small to give out at Christmas. If you’re looking to get someone a gift, here are some ideas for horse owners and enthusiasts, broken down into price range. I think it is most helpful to arrange a gift guide by price range because we want you to keep your holiday spending in control and within your budget (make sure you plan ahead to decide what your budget is for the people in your life). So before you buy anyone Christmas presents, please consider what you can actually afford within your budget, then don’t go over your budget!
There are a lot of gift guides out there, but not many of them are focused on what horse lovers want! Take a look around and feel free to leave a comment if you have received any of these things, or suggest a different gift!

- Offer to clean stalls or house sit for someone. When you clean stalls every. single. day. it can get old and having a day off feels great. As an added bonus, you can cook breakfast or dinner for the horse lover in your life.
- Clean tack – can be for a friend at the barn, your trainer, anyone really. Clean tack is always appreciated.

- Horse Treats ($3.95-$8.95) Enjoy Yums are my favorite horse treat right now – they are small and don’t crumble when you put them in your pocket.
- A new pair of riding socks! ($3-$10)
- Zocks are great for layering in the winter, or wearing in the summer. Or a pair of Tuffrider Riding Socks

- Leather Halter with name plate. Leather halters are both beautiful and functional.
- Quillin Leather Halters are high quality and popular in the thoroughbred world
- I still love a Perri’s halter that I bought many years ago. Nice leather and it looks very nice on my mare.
- Custom Horse Hair Jewelry: Etsy, Tail Spin, IM Silver, Spirit Horse Designs, etc will all make custom horse hair jewelry with your own horse’s tail hair! I ordered one from Spirit Horse Designs this year, and am dying to get it back!
$100+ Price Range (i.e. not really a price range in my opinion):
- Custom art work. I would love to have a custom piece of artwork of my horses, so I think this would be a unique and very personal gift for an equestrian in your life. This can range from a small piece for $50 to hundreds or thousands of dollars for a custom commission.
